Today, June 8, 2020, The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is rolling out a new nationwide emergency contact system called the Community Care Centralized Notification Center.
The VA covers emergency care for veterans at community hospitals depending on several factors, including whether the visit is authorized, whether the care is for a service-related injury or condition, and whether the provider has an agreement in place with the VA.
Previously, the notification process varied depending on these factors and could involve the veteran’s local VA facility. This information was not always known to the community provider.
Going forward, providers should always notify the VA using either of these two methods:
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: (844) 724-7842
This new emergency care contact system is a perfect example of the constant operational changes providers face when dealing with the VA, and why many providers have decided to work with Argos Health to outsource their VA claims processing.
